Vinyasa yoga is a good additional training for (martial) athletes. It helps to stretch the muscles, improve your concentration and helps you find the balance between strength and flexibility.
As in any dynamic form of yoga, synchronizing breathing with movement is key. Elements of yoga can be of great benefit when you also practice martial arts; deep and controlled breathing improves your recovery between rounds during sparring in (kick)boxing or MMA. Also, yoga includes many exercises for mobility, balance and dynamic stretching, which reduces the risk of injury.
This class is accessible to all levels.
In the Yin yoga classes, more time is taken to get in and out of poses. The poses are also held longer. Yin focuses on relaxation. This has a deep effect on your body and with this you not only create peace in your body, but also in your mind.
Yin is also an ideal addition to (kick) boxing or other intensive sports because you release your muscles as much as possible instead of tensing them. It therefore not only strengthens and repairs your muscles, but also your joints and connective tissues.
